Kia's new logo confusion

Big credit for KIA for doing a rebrand as it was needed. They completely reinvented themselves and the look of all their cars. The new logo was intended to convey a fresh start and a change of direction for the company. Bold move.

The old logo is associated with cheap/value car, the new one looks futuristic, they managed to change brand perception without having to change the actual name. KIA new cars look great and people will learn that it's Kia not KN. Just like people know it's Disney not Disnep, also Google auto correct KN to Kia and all is good.

It can sometimes take the world time to adjust to a new logo, especially when it’s quite a dramatic redesign. Reactions were a little mixed on the new logo for car manufacturer KIA when it made its debut in January, with some people praising the brand for its overdue refresh, but others pointing out that it looked a little confusing.

Wonder why that confusion wasn't detected in market testing before launching the new logo. Interestingly, it might show that Kia's doing something right if people were driven to search for its brand name after seeing the product on the road. This will be a short term problem, next generation of car buyers won't know any different.
